So, you know, the singularity happens. The machine mind goes all powerful, blah blah blah. Thankfully, this all-powerful entity was instilled with benevolent enough priorities so as to maximize for both quality and length of human life. Other earth-life too, if possible, but you know … priorities. One thing follows another, and, in a deus to ex all machinas, this new grand intelligence ends up folding all of our consciousnesses into itself. Time goes weird. Things get silly. Thus is born the Pocket Infinium. What could go wrong?

SAY WHAT NOW?

The Pocket Infinium is an expansive setting where I plan on telling many stories. In here, the passage of time changes depending on your proximity to the center. There are boundless nooks and crannies that are all lands unto themselves. Along with countless wonders, there are also a variety of hells.

Yes, the Pocket Infinium is what you might consider a virtual environment. Technically. But that would be like calling the universe a smattering of rock with a range of temperatures.

Any attribute which you might credit to actual reality, you will find in abundance somewhere among these bountiful pockets. Except, of course, for any drab uniformity in physical laws or an excess of underutilized space. Those stay outside.

SO … ?

1. Central Pocket – Not much is known about it, except that it sits at the perceptual and hierarchical center of the Pocket Infinium. It also happens to be the one who started this whole business, and it is much too busy to talk.

2. Gods – Offshoots of the Central Pocket, they are in charge of maintaining the entire Infinium. They do not always align on management styles.

3. Demigods – The charming entities formerly known as us.

4. Persons – Any intelligent life created at the behest of the gods or demigods.

5. Objects – Let’s unpack that.

WHO?

Hi there! My name is James Robinson, and all various tidbits here are written by me. I don’t exactly know what I’m trying to do with this story, except that I have a big idea I want to build out, and I want to do it in a way where a theoretical person could maybe hypothetically read it.

Once I get some momentum and figure out all the rules, I’ll eventually publish a proper novel set in this silly place. But for now, this will just be a hodgepodge of various stories, some of which involve the same characters.

Who knows where it will lead? I certainly don’t. Alas, I can’t shake the strange and delusional feeling that this will grow into my life’s work. It would certainly be embarrassing to be proven wrong, but don’t worry, I promise I’ll get over it.
